What’s the deal with Spotify backing former UFC commentator Joe Rogan with a $100 million dollar deal?
The answer is, according to the New York Times, $200 million over three and half years.
The backlash that Spotify has faced because of their partnership with Rogan has been intense, as India Arie went viral because of her video showing Rogan using the n-word in a video montage on his show. Along with that, numerous artists have criticized Rogan for spreading misinformation about the Covington incident.
This backlash led many to believe that Spotify would terminate the contract with Rogan. However, Daniel Ek, co-founder and chief executive of Spotify, told The New York Times that “the brand will not be removing Rogan from the platform.”
It is reported that Joe Rogan’s net worth is $100 million in 2022 per the site Filmysiyappa.com.
