After years of speculation and just over a year since the first reports came out, it’s official: LeBron James is opening up a museum in his hometown of Akron in 2023. The basketball extraordinaire is going to be the star of his own personal museum, which will feature some of his most important accomplishments and memorabilia from his career.
The LeBron James museum will be part of the transformation of the former Tangier entertainment complex in Akron, which is being completely reshaped and rebranded into the House Three Thirty. The museum will occupy much of the basement of House Three Thirty, which also will be home to restaurants, bars, and retail space when it opens next year.
The NBA star has four NBA championships under his belt with various teams. Along with that, he’s been named NBA Finals MVP four times, as well as captured the NBA MVP four times.
The NBA star has high expectations for the museum stating “We are not just trying to create a brand but also create an opportunity for people to understand me through my own eyes and see what I have done throughout my life to get me where I am today.”
